Infrastructure Engineer (Linux/Python)

Location: Remote, Must be based in the US and authorized to work in the United States. Core hours aligned with EST.

Compensation: $95K - 125K

What you will do

• Maintain and improve Linux infrastructure stacks to ensure services remain healthy and accessible.
• Manage workloads using Kubernetes, Salt, nginx, and PostgreSQL across various cloud providers.
• Develop and maintain features for PSF web properties, including python.org and us.pycon.org.
• Participate in a bi-weekly on-call rotation to respond to incidents and outages.
• Provide technical support for PyCon US operations, PSF staff, and volunteer contributors.
• Support CPython core development and fiscal sponsorees.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• 2-5 years of experience with Linux systems.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Salt, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Proficiency with Django, Linux administration, and software testing.
• Basic frontend knowledge and productivity in Python.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and Ubuntu server.
• Specific expertise in Salt and Python 3.11+.
• Proficiency with pytest.
• Experience participating in open source communities.
