Founding Engineer (Fullstack AI)

TL;DR

Founding Engineer (Fullstack AI): Building and optimizing a digitization ecosystem for cemeteries with an accent on geospatial data processing and AI integration. Focus on designing end-to-end technical architecture from AWS infrastructure and PostGIS databases to cross-platform mobile and web applications.

Location: Remote (Global). Requirement: Roughly 4 hours of overlap with Copenhagen (CET)

What you will do

• Lead the full technical stack, including IaC (Terraform, AWS), data pipelines, and core product features.
• Develop and ship features across NestJS (backend), React (web), and React Native with Expo (mobile).
• Build complex data ingestion pipelines converting raw PDF maps into geo-referenced data using QGIS and PostGIS.
• Design and implement AI harnesses for summaries and activity using AWS Bedrock, including prompt tuning and guardrails.
• Establish critical production foundations such as multi-tenancy (RLS), idempotency keys, and optimistic locking.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building production software, including at least one role at a growth startup as an early engineer.
• Proficiency in TypeScript across the entire stack (Node/NestJS and React).
• Hands-on experience owning and managing Terraform stacks on AWS.
• Strong relational database fundamentals, including schema design and query optimization for large datasets.
• Ability to maintain roughly 4 hours of daily overlap with the Copenhagen (CET) time zone.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping React Native / Expo apps to the App Store and Play Store.
• Production experience with PostGIS or other geospatial tooling.
• Knowledge of multi-tenancy patterns, row-level security, or GDPR compliance.
• Experience with production AI/LLM work, including prompt design and evaluations.
• Background in B2B/B2G SaaS, specifically dealing with public-sector requirements.
