Technical Support Engineer (Security)

TL;DR

Technical Support Engineer (Security): Providing high-level technical support for large-scale network security infrastructure with an accent on troubleshooting complex issues in routing, switching, and firewall environments. Focus on resolving high-priority customer escalations, maintaining deep technical relationships, and driving product improvements for top-tier telecom clients.

Location: Hybrid (requires working on average 2 days per week from an HPE office).

What you will do

• Act as the technical lead for high-priority issues involving Juniper Networks security products.
• Build and maintain collaborative, trust-based relationships with assigned top-tier accounts.
• Take ownership of sensitive customer issues to ensure prompt network service restoration.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams to facilitate knowledge transfer and drive product improvements.
• Participate in customer meetings to discuss technical issues and provide expert guidance.
• Contribute to technical documentation, including white papers and troubleshooting guides.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in a network support role, including 2-3 years supporting large IP networks.
• 4+ years of experience supporting customers on-site and via phone.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, Subnetting, Packet flow, OSI layers).
• Expertise in security technologies (VPNs, IPSec, GRE, SSL/SSH, QoS, DoS mitigation).

Nice to have

• Experience with stateful packet inspection, firewalls, and vulnerability management.
• Working knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VLAN, and high availability protocols.
• Certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, or CCNP in the Security domain.
• Experience with traffic generators (Ixia/Spirent) and network analysis tools.
• Proficiency in Linux, FreeBSD, and scripting languages like Python or Perl.
