Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA; Irving, TX; Tucson, AZ; or Mossville, IL (Onsite 5 days/week)

Salary: $112,710 - $183,140

What you will do

• Lead SOTIF lifecycle execution for AI-enabled and autonomous control systems.
• Identify hazards, triggering conditions, and reasonably foreseeable misuse at vehicle and system levels.
• Define Operational Design Domains (ODDs) and safety mitigation measures.
• Develop verification and validation strategies using simulation and field data analysis.
• Contribute to safety cases and technical construction files for product release.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tool credibility and data traceability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering/Science.
• Must be able to work full-time (5 days a week) onsite in Pittsburgh, PA.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and object-oriented design.
• Experience with embedded systems and software engineering principles.
• Deep expertise in SOTIF and application to autonomous/AI-enabled systems.
• Understanding of safety standards such as ISO 21448, ISO 26262, or ISO 19014.

Nice to have

• PhD in a related field.
• Proven experience with evidence-based assurance in an engineering environment.
• Familiarity with PAS 8800.
