What you will do

  • Design, develop, and maintain audio quality tools, automated analysis systems, and test infrastructure for PlayStation SDK audio libraries.
  • Write high-quality C++ and Python code to analyze audio output, detect regressions, and validate correctness across SDK versions.
  • Build systems for repeatable audio quality measurement, including signal analysis, spectral comparison, and perceptual metrics.
  • Own audio quality engineering features end-to-end, from design and implementation to CI integration and long-term support.
  • Collaborate with Audio SDK engineers to define testability requirements and ensure quality is integrated early in the design process.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to a culture of maintainable and testable software engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience in software engineering, particularly with tools, SDK components, or quality-focused infrastructure.
  • Excellent proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming.
  • Practical knowledge of digital audio fundamentals (PCM, sample rates, latency, frequency-domain analysis, spatial audio).
  • Experience designing and maintaining automated test systems and quality pipelines.
  • Ability to investigate complex technical failures across software, tooling, and environment boundaries.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Audio Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with audio analysis algorithms or metrics such as PESQ, POLQA, PEAQ, or loudness measurement.
  • Familiarity with game audio, console audio, real-time audio systems, or audio middleware.
  • Experience with spatial audio, 3D audio, binaural rendering, or immersive audio formats.
  • Proficiency with test frameworks like GTest, CppUnit, or PyTest.
  • Experience with CI systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
