Senior Linux Engineer (Databases): Designing, building, and evolving highly available RDBMS platforms across global infrastructure with an accent on reliability, scalability, and automation. Focus on automating database provisioning using IaC, optimizing multi-node clusters, and ensuring system-level tuning on bare metal and hybrid setups.

Location: Hybrid (2 days onsite). Must be based within commuting distance of Rotterdam, Atlanta, or Montreal/Quebec. Must already hold a valid work permit for the Netherlands, US, or Canada; no relocation or visa sponsorship provided.

What you will do

• Design and evolve highly available RDBMS platforms using MariaDB and PostgreSQL.
• Manage multi-environment database clusters, including replication, failover, and performance tuning.
• Automate database provisioning, configuration, and maintenance using Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible, Terraform).
• Take ownership of Linux systems running database workloads, including troubleshooting and system-level tuning on bare metal.
• Integrate database changes into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for safe deployments.
• Implement monitoring and observability for database platforms using Prometheus and Grafana.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing production database platforms (MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Strong expertise in Linux and Kubernetes, specifically in on-premise or hybrid environments.
• Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience integrating databases into CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience with Prometheus and Grafana in production environments.
• Valid work permit for the Netherlands, US, or Canada is mandatory.

• Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
