hirify.global is a fast-growing biotech company building an automated lab infrastructure that enables AI agents to execute physical biology experiments.

What you will do

  • Build orchestration software to coordinate liquid handlers, plate readers, and robot arms.
  • Reverse-engineer and develop instrument drivers and APIs for various communication protocols.
  • Model and execute complex multi-step protocols with robust error-recovery logic.
  • Create monitoring and observability tools for work-cell health and run progress.
  • Debug issues across the software-hardware boundary, including comms, firmware, and calibration.
  • Collaborate with lab automation engineers and scientists to optimize production workflows.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or able to work on-site in Lausanne, Switzerland.
  • Strong software engineering skills with production experience in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Experience or strong interest in building software that drives physical devices.
  • Ability to read protocol specs, debug flaky connections, and reason about timing.
  • Maker and hacker attitude with a focus on reliability and independent problem-solving.
  • Comfortable working with AI-native development tools and workflows.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with lab automation tools like PyHamilton, PyLabRobot, or Opentrons.
  • Background in robotics, industrial automation, IoT, or embedded systems.
  • Experience with electronics, microcontrollers, or 3D printing for physical integrations.
