Platform Developer (AWS)

TL;DR

Platform Developer (AWS/DevOps): Developing and delivering end-user APIs and the underlying platform for web and mobile applications with an accent on scalability, security, and cloud infrastructure. Focus on owning CI/CD pipelines, managing Kubernetes orchestration, and supporting high-performance geospatial data integrations.

Location: Montreal, Canada (On-site). Must obtain security clearance at the reliability status level and pass assessments for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR

What you will do

• Own the provisioning, deployment, security, and observability of end-user applications.
• Design and manage the end-user API and developer interface that customers connect to.
• Establish reliable CI/CD recipes and pipelines for product developers to leverage.
• Contribute to backend development, data modeling, and database administration for performance and reliability.
• Support customer API integrations, including potential forward-deployed engineering.
• Maintain platform-wide security posture, access controls, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Platform engineering, DevOps, or Backend roles.
• Expertise in API development and integration (REST, MQTT, event-driven, API gateway).
• Expertise in AWS, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Proficiency in Python or Go for platform tooling and automation.
• Strong networking skills including VPCs, DNS, TLS, and load balancing.
• Ability to meet Canadian security clearance and export regulation requirements (CGP, ITAR).

Nice to have

• Experience with geospatial data infrastructure or real-time data systems (time-series, streaming).
• Familiarity with satellite communications and ground segments.
• Security engineering expertise in threat modeling and zero-trust architecture.
• Experience with AI solutions and multi-region/multi-cloud deployments.
• Fluency in French and English.
