Product Applications Engineer 2 (Spector)

Location: Penang, Malaysia; travel to the USA and within Asia approximately 30% of the time

Company

Develops, manufactures, and services complex equipment and thin-film process technologies used to produce semiconductor and other advanced technology devices.

What you will do

• Support process setup, data collection, troubleshooting, and process qualification for incoming tools.
• Assist with experiments, process trials, best-known methods, customer demonstrations, and system validation.
• Monitor ion beam system process performance and support root cause analysis for escalated issues.
• Prepare basic technical reports and data summaries.
• Support customer training and collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Identify opportunities for new applications, product development, and enhancements to existing products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two years of experience with thin-film technologies or related equipment.
• Working knowledge of ion beam systems, process hardware, and relevant diagnostics.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Must be able to travel to the USA and within the Asia region approximately 30% of the time.
• Good spoken and written English is required.

Nice to have

• Understanding of thin-film deposition processes and hardware.
• Experience supporting semiconductor customer processes.
