Location: Hybrid or onsite in Cambridge, UK. Relocation support is provided.

What you will do

• Collaborate with artists and render programmers to develop visually stunning material features and effects.
• Maintain and contribute to game shader libraries and feature specifications.
• Identify and resolve shader performance issues and runtime costs.
• Optimize texture packing and formats based on specific content usage.
• Ensure content teams have practical effect workflows and conduct auditing for asset completion.

Requirements

• Experience authoring vertex and pixel shaders in HLSL/GLSL.
• Strong foundation in mathematics, specifically linear algebra and trigonometry.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and/or Lua.
• Understanding of lighting fundamentals, camera, composition, and materials.
• Knowledge of GPU profiling and memory optimization techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a Technical Art team.

Nice to have

• Experience authoring compute shaders.
• Comfortable programming in C++.
• Knowledge of rendering pipelines, physically based shading (PBR), visual effects, and post-processing.
