Location: Full in-studio or hybrid (minimum 3 days per week) in Cambridge, UK. Relocation support is available.

What you will do

• Coordinate with outsource vendors to ensure animation assets consistently meet the studio's technical and creative standards.
• Prepare structured animation briefs and reference materials to communicate requirements to external partners.
• Integrate and validate animation assets within the game engine and troubleshoot pipeline bugs.
• Collaborate with the rigging team to review and test rigs, providing detailed feedback for improvements.
• Review vendor submissions and provide constructive feedback to maintain quality standards.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the improvement of outsourcing workflows and documentation.

Requirements

• Extensive experience creating high-quality animation assets across multiple shipped games.
• Advanced proficiency with Maya.
• Solid understanding of animation pipelines, including retargeting workflows and game engine implementation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve technical production challenges.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor other artists.
• Highly collaborative mindset with strong organizational and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working on AAA titles or complex industry-standard animation systems.
• Familiarity with cinematic set-up, camera theory, or motion capture clean-up.
• Ability to create scripts or tools using Python or MEL for pipeline management.
• Experience stepping into leadership or decision-making roles.
