What you will do

• Handle biological and clinical specimens and manage data within the Freezer Management System.
• Process specimens for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), including nucleic acid extraction and library preparation.
• Participate in experimental design, execution, and analysis.
• Conduct general lab maintenance and manage the inventory of supplies and reagents.
• Collaborate with scientists across various groups to continuously improve lab processes.
• Perform all laboratory activities in accordance with the Quality Assurance Program.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled collegiate student (sophomore or higher) in good standing.
• Must be based in San Diego, CA (Onsite).
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in computer and software usage.
• Ability to problem solve and proactively collaborate with peers.
• Availability to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Nice to have

• Previous lab experience in biotech or an academic laboratory setting.
