Geotechnical Engineer

What you will do

• Manage geotechnical project tasks from feasibility and ground investigation to final design.
• Prepare technical specifications, interpretive reports, and construction drawings.
• Provide geotechnical expertise during client and team review meetings.
• Support business development by contributing to fee proposals and bids.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee their professional development.
• Ensure project delivery adheres to budget, programme, and technical quality standards.

Requirements

• BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or BSc/MSc in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Strong knowledge of UK ground conditions and investigation practices.
• Experience in geotechnical design including earthworks, foundations, and retaining structures.
• Proficiency in geotechnical design software such as Slope/W or Wallap.
• Must be willing to travel throughout the UK as required.
• Clean driving license.

Nice to have

• Chartered Engineer (IEng/CEng) status or active progress toward it.
• Familiarity with data management software like gINT or Open Ground.
• Experience in specialized sectors such as highways, railways, or nuclear.
