What you will do

• Build and improve backend services to support reliable, scalable customer sessions.
• Write clear, maintainable code using Java while following team standards.
• Develop and enhance APIs and database-backed functionality for high-volume traffic.
• Investigate bugs and support issues to identify root causes and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers and product partners to deliver performance-focused changes.
• Maintain documentation to ensure system clarity and ease of support.

Requirements

• Experience building backend software through work, internships, or personal projects.
• Understanding of Java or a similar object-oriented programming language.
• Familiarity with databases and SQL, with an interest in data modeling and scaling.
• Awareness of common data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Enthusiasm for distributed systems, monitoring, and high-traffic production environments.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom to support the remote-first team structure.
