What you will do

• Develop stable backend applications and software aligned with user needs.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to define features and enhancements from a backend perspective.
• Implement backend aspects of features using the Java and Spring Boot tech stack.
• Contribute to automated testing suites to ensure high software quality.
• Support the end-to-end roll-out and deployment of new features.
• Coach and mentor junior team members while driving engineering standards.

Requirements

• Experience developing REST APIs with Java (preferably Java 8+) and Spring Boot.
• Knowledge of SQL databases, preferably Postgres or Oracle.
• Experience with modern Continuous Integration tooling such as Jenkins.
• Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing.
• Location: Must be based in Cardiff, UK for hybrid work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker or other containerization tools.
• Experience developing on Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of TypeScript, React, Angular, or similar frontend frameworks.
• Experience with WDIO or Selenium for automated browser testing.
• Financial services industry exposure.
• Experience using AI in a development environment.
