Assistant Professor on Network Science

Location: Relocation to the Netherlands is expected; partly remote work is possible.

Salary: €4,925–€6,682 per month, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.

What you will do

• Conduct research in Network Science, with a focus on network resilience.
• Apply Network Science theory to telecommunication, power grid, and transportation networks.
• Study resilience to node and link failures, attacks, bandwidth reductions, packet loss, delays, and power-grid disturbances.
• Develop collaborations across graph signal processing, network data science, stochastic processes, and computer architectures.
• Build collaborations with industrial partners and acquire national and international research funding.
• Lecture and supervise students within the Network Architectures and Services section.

Requirements

• PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or operations research.
• Expertise in the broad area of Network Science and the ability to extend and apply network resilience research.
• Ability to integrate knowledge from diverse domains and collaborate with academic groups.
• Skills and ambition to establish industrial collaborations and obtain funded research projects.
• Passion and ability for teaching, lecturing, and student supervision.
• High English competency is required for teaching staff.

Nice to have

• Less than five years of teaching experience may be supported through the hirify.global University Teaching Qualification programme.
• Knowledge of Dutch is not required initially; Dutch language courses are available.
