(Senior) Sector Economist Semiconductors & AI

What you will do

• Conduct economic and sector research primarily covering the semiconductor value chain.
• Analyze thematic topics related to semiconductors and AI, including Brainport Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and leading companies such as ASML.
• Produce research on the industry’s growth outlook using quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Develop scenarios and communicate clear, actionable, and coherent viewpoints.
• Publish frequently on ING Research websites in English and Dutch.
• Execute the Sector Research Plan together with the TMT Sector Champion and collaborate with macro and markets research teams.

Requirements

• University degree in Economics or an adjacent discipline.
• Significant work experience in the technology sector, such as a previous sector research role.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Professional network within the technology and/or semiconductor industry in the Netherlands.
• Preference for fluency in written and spoken Dutch and English.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Dutch and European policy concerning the high-tech industry.
• Experience applying AI in research.
• Experience working with written and broadcast media.
• Strong social media presence.
