Tax Intern (Finance)

Tax Intern (Finance): Planning and preparing tax services under the guidance of professional staff with an accent on learning business tax processes and professional communication. Focus on identifying accounting issues, utilizing specialized tax software, and preparing accurate project status updates.

Location: On-site in Syracuse, Ithaca, Rochester, or Watertown, NY. Sponsorship is not available.

Compensation: $20 – $28 per hour

What you will do

• Learn the business of tax and professional tax processes and policies.
• Plan and prepare tax services as assigned by the Tax Staff.
• Collaborate with Tax Accountants for support and use of learning tools.
• Become familiar with and effectively utilize specialized tax software.
• Communicate concise and accurate project status updates.

Requirements

• Active enrollment and a major in Accounting or Finance.
• Interest in pursuing a career in public accounting.
• Preferably pursuing 120-150 credit-hour academic requirement toward CPA eligibility.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in New York (Syracuse, Ithaca, Rochester, or Watertown).
• No sponsorship available.
