Building Science Project Associate (Civil Engineering)

TL;DR

Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid: 4 days in the office to start)

Compensation: $50,000 to $65,000 CAD

What you will do

• Provide project support for Asset Management, Building Envelope, and structural projects.
• Conduct field investigations for building condition assessments and envelope repair/evaluation projects.
• Prepare detailed written reports, including cost analysis and design recommendations.
• Develop contract documents, plans, details, and specifications for building modifications and renovations.
• Liaise with clients, design consultants, and contractors to ensure project compliance and timely delivery.
• Interpret engineering specifications and resolve field engineering difficulties under senior supervision.

Requirements

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology and/or a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge of North American building codes and standards.
• Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to client sites.
• Willingness to work on-site and comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in building science.
• Specialization in Building Envelope and Structural Engineering.
• Experience with concrete and masonry restoration, cladding, and glazing upgrades.
