Risk Manager (Fintech)

TL;DR

Risk Manager (Fintech): Leading the design and delivery of the enterprise risk management framework for a growing financial platform with an accent on FCA regulation, risk taxonomy, and KRIs. Focus on maturing risk frameworks to inform business decisions, transitioning to a GRC platform, and overseeing stress testing and wind-down planning.

Location: Hybrid (London), minimum 3 days a week in office

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) to support business scaling.
• Re-baseline risk taxonomy and collaborate with risk owners on risk assessments and appetites.
• Build live KRI dashboards and provide decision-useful risk reporting to the Risk Committee.
• Manage the transition to a GRC platform and lead annual wind-down plan refreshes aligned to FCA WDPG and CASS 10A.
• Provide second-line challenge for product launches, partner-bank changes, and AI implementations.
• Partner with Internal Audit and third-party providers to shape independent assurance plans.

Requirements

• Comprehensive working knowledge of FCA SYSC 4, 6, and 7, EMD/PSD regime, WDPG, and CASS 10A.
• Hands-on experience designing Enterprise Risk Management Frameworks, including taxonomy and RCSA methodology.
• Proven experience in FCA-regulated firms within the EMI, payments, banking, or FinTech sectors.
• Practical experience embedding stress testing, reverse stress testing, and wind-down planning at a firm level.
• Ability to provide independent challenge and influence senior stakeholders at Director and C-suite levels.
• Must be based in or able to commute to the London office (minimum 3 days per week).

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating or implementing GRC platforms.
• Exposure to AI risk management and operational resilience under FCA expectations.
• Professional risk qualifications (e.g., IRM, FRM, PRMIA) or a Big 4 consulting background.
