What you will do
- Operate hydroelectric power plants through regular monitoring and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve alarms to minimize facility downtime.
- Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs, including electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Coordinate with the 24/7 remote operations center and interface with external consultants and suppliers.
- Support capital projects, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and corporate health and safety policies.
Requirements
- Journeyman certification (Millwright or Electrician) or equivalent experience in mechanical/electrical fields.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
- Strong safety mindset with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical safety standards.
- Basic computer skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Must be based in or able to work on-site in Corinth, NY.
Nice to have
- Experience with hydroelectric operations, PLCs, and high-voltage substations.
- Familiarity with turbine systems, governors, and hydraulic power units.
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
