What you will do

• Design and develop optical systems for HUD applications utilizing advanced simulation and modeling software.
• Conduct rigorous optical analysis and ray tracing to evaluate performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Establish comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications and performance reports.
• Execute optical testing and validation protocols to ensure designs meet quality standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering and product teams to integrate optical components into display systems.
• Select optical materials, coatings, and components based on performance and cost parameters.

Requirements

• Academic degree in Physics or an equivalent field.
• Professional experience in optical system design and optical engineering.
• Strong proficiency with optical design software such as Zemax, CODE V, or OSLO.
• Hands-on experience with head-up display (HUD) systems or similar optical technologies.
• Solid understanding of aberration theory, optical coatings, and optical alignment.
• English: Fluent (C1) required

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive or aerospace optical systems.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with MATLAB for optical analysis and modeling.
• Fluent German language skills.
