Location: Hybrid setup in Paris, London, or Barcelona. Outstanding remote candidates may be considered, but this is not a remote-first role.

What you will do

• Design and operate backend services powering conversational and agentic AI features.
• Implement robust patterns for LLM integration, including retries, fallbacks, and cost-aware usage.
• Orchestrate multi-step workflows combining reasoning, tool usage, and product actions.
• Partner with staff engineers to define architecture for AI-native product experiences.
• Ensure high standards of observability, security, and performance for production services.
• Collaborate with product, design, and ML teams to turn concepts into reliable backend capabilities.

Requirements

• Significant backend software engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Fluency in service design, asynchronous architectures, and distributed systems.
• Experience integrating LLMs into production systems (e.g., AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic).
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment in Paris, London, or Barcelona.

Nice to have

• Experience with conversational or agentic systems.
• Experience with tool-calling, guardrails, and evaluation loops for LLMs.
• Background in SaaS, fintech, or regulated environments.
• Experience with rich content processing or multimodal service design.
