Senior Frontend Engineer (React)

TL;DR

Senior Frontend Engineer (React/Shopify): Building and evolving customer-facing eCommerce experiences for the OnStar platform with an accent on scalable React applications and Shopify integration. Location: Hybrid: Must report to Austin, TX or Warren, MI 3-4 days per week (T-W-Th)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-performing React-based user experiences for digital commerce platforms.
• Integrate front-end applications with Shopify, APIs, analytics tools, and enterprise systems.
• Enhance engineering standards by improving code quality, automated testing, and observability.
• Support CI/CD, deployment automation, and release quality to improve delivery speed.
• Collaborate with product, design, and architecture teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and participate in code reviews for other engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Hands-on experience designing and delivering digital commerce experiences with Shopify.
• Deep understanding of web performance, accessibility, and responsive design.
• No immigration sponsorship provided (e.g., H-1B, TN, STEM OPT).
• Must be based in or able to relocate to Austin, TX or Warren, MI.

Nice to have

• Experience with headless CMS platforms such as Sanity, Contentful, or Adobe AEM.
• Familiarity with A/B testing, personalization, or optimization platforms.
• Domain experience in eCommerce business flows.
