TL;DR
Junior Legal Counsel (Fintech): Supporting the core legal team in finance, corporate, and commercial legal matters with an accent on regulatory compliance and contract management. Focus on drafting commercial agreements, managing corporate governance cycles, and advising on global payment service regulations.
Location: Must be based in Madrid, Spain (Hybrid: 4 days in office, 1 day remote).

What you will do
- Review, draft, and update commercial agreements, client terms, and legal templates.
- Advise on the design and implementation of new products and market expansion.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve day-to-day legal queries.
- Act as board secretary for subsidiaries, handling corporate governance and minutes.
- Manage quarterly company governance cycles and assist with establishing new entities.
- Work with the compliance team on global payment and financial service regulations.
Requirements
- English: C1 or C2 fluency required.
- Legal qualification in a relevant jurisdiction.
- At least 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in private practice or in-house.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational and research skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Fluency in a third language.
- Experience with commercial contracts or payment regulatory matters.
- Company secretarial or corporate governance experience.
