TL;DR

What you will do

  • Own the architecture and technical roadmap for Remote Assistance across onboard integration, offboard services, and operator tooling.
  • Define and drive the vehicle-operator contract, including data authority bounds, fallback behavior, and failure handling.
  • Lead cross-team execution across autonomy, safety, and platform infrastructure to turn architecture into deliverables.
  • Establish system-level quality bars for latency budgets, reliability targets, and incident learning loops.
  • Act as the primary technical interface to engineering leadership and safety stakeholders to shape the L4 safety case.

Requirements

  • Staff-level experience building real-time, safety-critical systems in domains like AV, robotics, aerospace, or industrial control.
  • Strong product orientation with the ability to connect technical metrics to rider experience and launch readiness.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-organizational technical roadmaps and aligning multiple teams.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in low-latency video/telemetry streaming, robotics system integration, or control systems.
  • Strong safety-first engineering instincts, focusing on failure-mode thinking and evidence-driven decision making.
  • Must be based in or able to work hybrid in London, UK.

Nice to have

  • Direct experience with teleoperation, remote driving, or remote assistance systems.
  • Familiarity with autonomy safety frameworks, functional safety concepts, and hazard analysis.
  • Experience scaling production systems from prototype to operational reliability in fast-moving environments.
