Salary: $128,000 — $140,000 USD

What you will do

• Plan and conduct laboratory experiments to understand failure modes and optimize high-complexity molecular diagnostic tests.
• Develop and author SOPs, experimental protocols, and technical reports for Design History Files and regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with bioinformatics, CLIA operations, and quality teams to implement process improvements and identify root causes of technical issues.
• Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges arising during routine operations and assay development.
• Implement data visualization using Tableau to proactively identify trends in the production laboratory.
• Develop new controls and enhanced procedures for reagent and instrument qualifications.

Requirements

• PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field (0+ years experience), MS (2+ years), or BS (5+ years).
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in South San Francisco, CA.
• Experience with molecular platforms such as next-generation sequencing, microarrays, or PCR in a high-complexity CLIA lab.
• Hands-on knowledge of biochemistry underlying multi-component molecular biology methods.
• Strong documentation skills and experience interpreting genomic data.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, goal-oriented environment.

Nice to have

• Prior experience developing or supporting laboratory-developed tests (LDTs).
• Experience working with liquid handling platforms.
