What you will do

• Perform tensile testing and cross-section analysis on weld-related samples to verify quality.
• Utilize microscope systems to evaluate weld patterns, burrs, and knurl features.
• Set up, operate, and ensure calibration status of lab equipment and test systems.
• Document test results and maintain sample traceability within applicable quality systems.
• Support containment actions and nonconforming material investigations for welding failures.
• Collaborate with quality and process engineering teams to troubleshoot and validate weld performance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, quality, materials, or metrology lab.
• Direct experience with mechanical testing such as tensile, peel, or shear testing.
• Hands-on experience with microscope-based inspection and metallographic cross-section analysis.
• Ability to read and translate engineering drawings and specifications into test procedures.
• Must be based in the US; immigration sponsorship is not provided for this role.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or higher in materials, metallurgy, welding, or engineering technology.
• Experience in battery cell manufacturing or advanced manufacturing environments (startup, pilot line).
• Familiarity with optical microscopy and image-based measurement systems.
