Salary: $249,000 – $348,500 (San Jose) / $231,000 – $323,500 (Seattle)

What you will do

• Design and evolve Kubernetes-based environment components, focusing on multi-tenancy, network policy, and service mesh integration (Istio, Linkerd).
• Architect scaling strategies for the control and data planes to handle a 10x increase in services and traffic.
• Develop next-generation CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and a unified internal developer portal using Backstage.
• Automate the infrastructure lifecycle by authoring production-grade IaC using Terraform and Crossplane.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers, leading architecture reviews and authoring RFCs.
• Act as the final escalation point for complex production incidents involving kernels, CNI bugs, and distributed system failures.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure automation, configuration management, or container orchestration.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Python, or Ruby.
• Professional experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Docker, and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• Must be based in the United States (specifically San Jose or Seattle).

Nice to have

• Experience with Stateless and Stateful workloads, Service Mesh, or Service Discovery.
• Proficiency in monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
• Knowledge of security principles such as token management, encryption, and certificates.
• Experience building self-service technology platform capabilities for traffic or API management.
