What you will do

• Perform venipunctures and finger sticks to obtain blood specimens while maintaining specimen integrity using aseptic techniques.
• Verify test requisitions and patient identification to ensure accuracy and resolve unusual orders with physicians or pathologists.
• Track collected specimens and maintain detailed quality-control logs and daily collection tallies.
• Manage logistics, including printing patient reports and scheduling courier pickups via FedEx or Medspeed.
• Handle billing inquiries and triaging for patients in the assigned area.
• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by complying with legal regulations and JCAHO standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy Certificate (if required by State).
• Must be based in Waco, TX.
• Ability to adhere to professional standards, hospital policies, and federal/state requirements.
• Completion of HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training within 30 days of hire.
