Technical Cinematic Designer (Unreal Engine)

What you will do

• Design and polish real-time cinematics using Unreal Sequencer, including camera work and transitions.
• Integrate cinematic sequences into Unreal Engine in collaboration with narrative, animation, and VFX teams.
• Implement narrative systems, dialogue triggers, and branching scenes to support interactive storytelling.
• Develop cinematic tools, blueprints, and pipelines to improve team workflow efficiency.
• Optimize cinematics for performance and stability across multiple platforms.
• Coordinate with audio teams to synchronize VO, SFX, and music.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in cinematic or narrative design for games (AAA or high-quality indie).
• Expert proficiency with Unreal Engine and Level Sequences.
• Strong understanding of real-time narrative systems, scripting, triggers, and state machines.
• Ability to create visually compelling cinematic sequences in-engine.
• Proficiency with Blueprints for cinematic logic and tool creation.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Strong grasp of cinematography principles and camera direction.
• Experience with performance capture and facial animation systems.
• Proficiency in setting up scenes and exporting animations from Maya.
• Experience with version control systems such as Perforce or Git.
