Senior Platform Engineer - Reporting Systems (.NET/SQL Server)

What you will do

• Build and maintain an Excel Web Add-in for Excel Online and desktop.
• Develop cloud APIs coordinating report execution, parameters, and results.
• Build and evolve secure on-premise connector services for customer SQL Server environments and Azure infrastructure.
• Design and tune SQL queries, indexes, stored procedures, and reporting schemas.
• Ensure reliability, performance, security, and maintainability across the platform.
• Translate reporting needs into system designs, define boundaries and data flows, decompose initiatives, review implementations, and contribute to AI-assisted reporting features.

Requirements

• Native or near-native English skills, written and spoken, are required.
• 8–12 years of software development experience with complex production systems.
• Hands-on architecture experience, including diagramming system components, data flows, and boundaries.
• Strong .NET and ASP.NET Core backend experience; deep Node.js and TypeScript experience may also be considered.
• Advanced SQL Server expertise, including query tuning, execution plans, indexing, stored procedures, and reporting-oriented schema design.
• Frontend experience with TypeScript and React or an equivalent modern framework, plus familiarity with Azure, CI/CD, and production diagnostics.

Nice to have

• Experience building or integrating Excel add-ins with Office.js or VSTO.
• Experience building AI-assisted features or integrating LLM capabilities into production systems.
• Experience with large-scale, data-intensive systems rather than CRUD applications or narrow feature work.
