Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Create and maintain assembly, build, and field servicing documentation for autonomous tractor platforms.
• Develop hardware bring-up guides, sensor calibration workflows, and post-repair verification checklists.
• Produce operator-facing manuals, quick-reference cards, and safety notices for airline customers.
• Establish and manage a scalable documentation system, including version control and naming conventions.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to source technical content and review drafts.
• Create visual aids such as annotated diagrams, exploded views, and process flowcharts.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a technical writer in a hardware-centric industry (robotics, automotive, aerospace, or industrial equipment).
• Proven ability to document complex electromechanical systems and interpret mechanical drawings or wiring schematics.
• Experience creating documentation for multiple audiences, including engineers, technicians, and end users.
• Proficiency with documentation platforms like Confluence or Notion and version control workflows.
• Ability to work autonomously and build documentation processes from the ground up.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in Atlanta or South San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience documenting autonomous vehicles, mobile robots, or aviation ground support equipment.
• Familiarity with structured authoring and single-sourcing strategies.
• Experience producing illustrated documentation using Adobe Illustrator or Figma.
• Exposure to regulatory or compliance documentation in safety-critical industries.
• Experience in an early-stage startup environment.
