Design Engineer (Aerospace)

Design Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and integrating complex electronic hardware for aerospace and defense systems with an accent on mechanical layouts for Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) boards. Focus on ensuring fit, clearance, and tolerance compliance using PTC Creo and Windchill while supporting manufacturing and integration activities.

Location: Must be based in Orlando, Florida (Hybrid: 50% Telework, 4/10 schedule).

Salary: $55–$65 per hour (W2 contract).

What you will do

• Create detailed mechanical layouts for Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) boards.
• Select appropriate connectors and ensure fit, clearance, and tolerance compliance.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support DFM/DFA reviews.
• Define and oversee test plans and manage board integration with enclosures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, systems, and reliability teams.
• Manage design documentation and Bills of Materials (BOM).

Requirements

• US Citizenship is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with CCA board mechanical design and connector selection.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with PTC Creo and Windchill.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Zuken, IPC standards, and aerospace/defense product cycles.
• Ability to produce high-quality design documentation and guide integration activities.

• Experience with cable and harness design.
