Mechanical Engineer IV (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Elyria, Ohio, United States. Occasional travel to customer and supplier facilities is required; a passport is required. Access to controlled data may be required, and only US Persons will be considered for positions subject to ITAR requirements.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components for aerospace and defense applications, including pumps and thermal management systems.

What you will do

• Own assigned proposals, projects, investigations, and related engineering activities under managerial guidance.
• Manage project costs, schedules, technical requirements, specifications, documentation, and program records.
• Lead product design and ensure completion of mechanical and electromechanical modeling, analysis, and performance activities.
• Develop, review, and approve drawings, drawing release packages, revisions, and other design documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, business development, customers, suppliers, and contractors.
• Support Material Review Board assessments and lead process definition and improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics, statics and dynamics, mechanical component design, vibration, stress and strain, coatings, heat treating, metallurgy, strength of materials, drawing layouts, stack-ups, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Experience with finite element analysis, CAD drafting or 3D solid modeling, and basic programming; Ansys and Creo are preferred tools.
• Ability to oversee, coach, and mentor supporting engineers and assigned personnel.
• US Person eligibility may be required for access to controlled data under ITAR.
