Director of Competitive Intelligence (Product Marketing): Building and leading the competitive intelligence function for enterprise data infrastructure and AI workloads with an accent on market analysis, sales enablement, and strategic GTM influence. Focus on synthesizing complex technical data into actionable insights to accelerate win rates and shape product positioning against key industry rivals.
Location: Must be based in the United States (Morrisville, NC or San Jose, CA preferred). Role is hybrid with in-office expectations.
Salary: $265,000–$305,000

What you will do
- Define and execute the vision and operational strategy for the Competitive Intelligence function.
- Monitor the data infrastructure and AI market landscape to evaluate competitor strategies, pricing, and positioning.
- Create high-impact sales assets including battlecards, pitch decks, and objection-handling guides.
- Lead the global win/loss analysis program to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.
- Advise executive leadership on product roadmap and GTM strategy for STaaS and AI infrastructure.
- Hire, mentor, and develop a team of high-performing competitive intelligence analysts.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in Competitive Intelligence, Product Marketing, Solutions Architecture, or Corporate Strategy within the B2B enterprise tech sector.
- 5+ years of people-management or team-leadership experience.
- Deep foundational knowledge of enterprise data storage, cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), and AI data infrastructure.
- Proven ability to synthesize massive amounts of structured and unstructured data into executive-level insights.
- Strong understanding of enterprise B2B sales cycles and ability to correlate intelligence to sales productivity.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to C-level executives.
Nice to have
- Previous experience competing against or working at major data storage or neo-cloud competitors.
- Advanced degree (MBA or technical Master's degree).
- Familiarity with CI platforms (e.g., Klue, Crayon) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
