Senior Cyber Security Defender Engineer with German (m/f/d)

Location: Remote from Slovakia only; office location in Košice, Slovakia.

Salary: negotiable base salary, from €1,850 gross per month, plus variable compensation and other financial benefits.

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot security solutions in data center, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Manage Microsoft Defender solutions across Endpoint, Cloud, Identity, Cloud Apps, and O365.
• Operate Sophos Intercept X EDR/XDR and Sophos SG/XG Firewalls.
• Handle incident, change, and problem tickets related to security systems, including on-call troubleshooting.
• Install, configure, and maintain security tools and monitoring systems across servers, networks, cloud, and endpoints.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors on implementation projects, onboarding, training, and documentation.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with Microsoft Defender solutions, Defender XDR, and EDR/XDR administration.
• Experience implementing and maintaining security solutions in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud, and endpoints, with a security focus.
• German at B2 level and English at B1 level.
• Strong hands-on approach, structured planning and execution, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work remotely from Slovakia due to European taxation requirements.

• SC-900 Microsoft Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals certification.
• SC-200 Microsoft Security Operations Analyst certification.
• Sophos Certified Technician – Central Endpoint and Server certification.
