Network Security Architect (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid work in Weßling/Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich or Bremen, Germany

What you will do

• Develop and maintain network security architecture for hybrid terrestrial, non-terrestrial, and space-based environments.
• Define and implement security policies and technical controls for core, edge, and user-segment networks.
• Integrate communication systems securely across terrestrial, satellite, cloud, and edge domains.
• Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and vulnerability analyses.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on security requirements and compliance documentation.
• Develop network security monitoring strategies and lead incident response and recovery.

Requirements

• Degree in cybersecurity, computer science, telecommunications, or a related field.
• Experience in network security architecture, preferably in aerospace or critical infrastructure.
• In-depth knowledge of IP/MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and SD-WAN.
• Expertise with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, PKI, and endpoint protection.
• Experience integrating cloud, satellite, and edge networks securely.
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, and applicable regulatory requirements, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CISM, or Cisco Security certification such as CCNP Security.
