Salary: $210,000 - $250,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead software modernization efforts within forward operational environments for Department of War stakeholders.
• Bridge the gap between operational user needs and technical implementation to accelerate modernization initiatives.
• Drive agile software delivery, DevSecOps enablement, cloud-native adoption, and operational data integration.
• Translate complex mission challenges into executable technical strategies and measurable delivery outcomes.
• Coordinate with distributed engineering and acquisition modernization teams across dispersed operational environments.
• Stand up new operational capabilities and modernization efforts from concept through execution.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, delivery, systems integration, or defense modernization.
• 3+ years in a hands-on technical leadership role supporting software modernization.
• Active Secret security clearance (Must Have Clearance to Start).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud-native engineering, and secure software delivery.
• Experience operating within complex government or highly regulated operational environments.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage with high-level stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI Clearance.
• Experience supporting software modernization within Combatant Command or joint defense environments.
• Exposure to AI/ML-enabled workflows and data-centric modernization efforts.
• Familiarity with modern defense software acquisition and rapid capability delivery approaches.
• Experience working with software factories, innovation organizations, or non-traditional tech teams.
