Location: New York, USA. Must work in office 4+ days per week (Default Together policy).

What you will do

• Design and operate critical scalable services such as user identity, friend graph, and core persistence layers.
• Collaborate across teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions and evaluate trade-offs.
• Evaluate, test, and debug code to ensure high quality, security, and production readiness.
• Implement best practices for availability, scalability, and operational cost management.
• Utilize AI tools to streamline development and increase engineering velocity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical work experience.
• 6+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience (or 5+ with Master's, 2+ with PhD).
• Proven experience with distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, and/or Python.
• Experience with NoSQL solutions, Memcache/Redis, Kubernetes, or Google/AWS services.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale microservices and cloud storage systems.
• Knowledge of machine learning and natural language processing.
• Experience with infrastructure and large-scale system design.
