Vice President Software Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, resilient, multi-region, firm-wide software systems and applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define technical architecture.
• Implement and maintain best practices for software development and engineering processes.
• Develop comprehensive software and process documentation, including design specifications and user guides.
• Onboard platform infrastructure and application teams onto central asset and application inventory platforms.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers to foster technical growth.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development and engineering.
• Proven technical leadership experience leading development teams and developing staff.
• Strong proficiency in Java development and testing best practices.
• Experience with distributed NoSQL technologies such as Cassandra, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch.
• Must be based in Dallas, TX, United States.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience with AWS services (RDS/Aurora, S3, DMS, ECS/EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC).
• AWS Certifications (Solution Architect, Developer Associate/Professional).
• Experience building RESTful APIs and working with Agile software development methodologies.
