Senior Data Engineer (f/m/d) | Hamburg (Hybrid)

2B+ daily requests. TBs of streaming event data. Sub-100ms decisioning systems running in production. If you want to build data infrastructure that doesn’t just store information but powers real-time machine learning decisions at global scale, this is the environment. You’ll join a high-scale AdTech platform where every event is processed and transformed into signals that directly influence ad selection, pricing, and revenue in real time. This is not a traditional data warehouse role—it’s real-time, distributed data engineering at the core of a live ML-driven system serving hundreds of millions of users.

• A real-time feature store built on Apache Flink powering ML decisioning
• Streaming pipelines processing TB-scale event data daily
• End-to-end data quality, validation, and observability frameworks
• Low-latency (<100ms p99) data flows for ad selection and pricing systems
• Close collaboration between Data Science, Backend, and Infrastructure teams

What we’re looking for You should have strong experience building and scaling data infrastructure or streaming systems in production at meaningful scale. This includes working with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and high-throughput data pipelines. Strong backend engineering skills (especially Java) are important, along with hands-on experience with Kafka, Flink, or similar streaming technologies. You should be comfortable working closely with Data Science teams and understand how production data systems directly enable ML performance. Just as important is mindset—you’re not just moving data between systems. You’re building the foundation that enables real-time intelligence across the entire platform.
