What you will do

• Architect and deploy high-throughput, low-latency recommendation systems scaling to millions of users and billions of daily requests.
• Identify relevant signals from large-scale datasets to improve model performance.
• Develop and refine relevance models and bidding strategies using advanced ML techniques to directly influence revenue.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of production ML models, including monitoring and data-driven iterative improvements.
• Collaborate with backend engineering teams to design and implement robust, scalable, and production-ready ML solutions.
• Conduct rigorous A/B testing and experimentation to validate hypotheses and measure business impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing and deploying production-grade recommendation systems in high-volume environments (e.g., adtech, e-commerce, search).
• Expertise in deep learning with hands-on experience in neural network architectures using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Jax.
• Strong software engineering foundations.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to Hamburg, Germany.

Nice to have

• Understanding of data engineering principles.
• Experience with large-scale distributed data processing systems such as Spark, Flink, or Kafka.
• Knowledge of data storage solutions including AWS Athena, S3, or MySQL.
