Senior ML Research Engineer (AI & Generative Recommendation): Leading the design and implementation of AI-native recommendation pipelines with an accent on generative retrieval, deep ranking, and re-ranking. Location: Hybrid (Hamburg/Berlin). Must be based in or be able to relocate to Germany.

What you will do

• Architect multi-stage recommendation pipelines encompassing Generative Retrieval, Deep Ranking, and Re-ranking.
• Convert SOTA research from venues like NeurIPS, KDD, and RecSys into robust, production-ready code.
• Direct research on information-rich embeddings using unsupervised and generative approaches for user and ad representations.
• Scale innovative technologies and generative models into high-concurrency environments with extreme production constraints.
• Mentor junior scientists and lead architectural debates to foster a collaborative research environment.

Requirements

• PhD in CS, Stats, Math, or Physics (or MSc with extensive industry research).
• Proven track record of publications in top-tier venues such as SIGIR, KDD, NeurIPS, or ICLR.
• 4+ years of professional experience building large-scale recommenders in AdTech, E-commerce, or Social industries.
• Deep proficiency in PyTorch, including experience in model quantization and distillation.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup (3 core office days) in Germany.
