TL;DR

Software Team Manager (Java/Python): Leading a technical Agile scrum team to deliver federal technology modernization solutions with an accent on code quality, AWS infrastructure, and security compliance. Focus on translating functional requirements into technical tasks, managing CI/CD pipelines, and remediating security vulnerabilities in a federal environment.

Location: Remote (Must be U.S. citizens or authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis)

What you will do

  • Serve as the technical lead for an Agile scrum team, providing day-to-day direction to developers, frontend engineers, and testers.
  • Translate functional requirements from Product Owners and Business Analysts into technical work and actionable stories.
  • Drive code quality through peer review discipline, maintaining 90% test coverage and SonarQube compliance.
  • Manage AWS containerized microservices and automated GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Coordinate with Solutions Architects on architectural decisions and security control reviews (ATO/POAM).
  • Lead triage and resolution for Tier-2 and Tier-3 production issues.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship or full U.S. work authorization is required (Sponsorship not available).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or 3 years additional experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of professional software engineering experience with a track record as a tech lead or senior developer.
  • Hands-on experience with Java/Python, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
  • Proficiency with AWS (ECS, RDS, S3, SNS, SQS), GitLab CI/CD, and Terraform.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting federal government clients and SAFe environments.
  • Proficiency with Spring Boot and Angular.
  • AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect certifications.
  • Experience with SAST/DAST tooling and security scanning integration.
