Fullstack Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Fullstack Engineer (Python / React): Building and evolving the data models, services, and APIs that power financial products for major brands with an accent on back-end microservices and customer-facing APIs. Focus on designing scalable systems, reducing technical debt, and mentoring engineers in a high-velocity environment.

Location: Hybrid (3 days a week in the NYC office). No visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $160,000 - $190,000 base

What you will do

• Design and scale data models, services, and systems powering customer-facing and internal APIs.
• Maintain and optimize a Python-based microservice stack.
• Lead the development of new products within the hirify.global ecosystem, balancing velocity with reliability.
• Proactively manage and reduce technical debt during new project development.
• Develop tooling, processes, and engineering standards to improve team efficiency.
• Mentor junior engineers to foster team growth and technical excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in back-end or full-stack application development, focusing on data modeling and API design.
• Prior experience working at an early-stage startup or small tech company.
• Deep expertise with modern back-end frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Rails, or Gin.
• Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks, specifically React or Vue.
• Ability to design systems and evaluate tradeoffs in scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Strong desire to learn new technologies and a passion for customer-centric product development.
