Software Engineer II (Fintech)

Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco (onsite 5 days a week)

Compensation: Base $180,857–$220,498 + Bonus + Equity + Benefits

What you will do

• Design and ship core platform features, including APIs and services for real-time conversational AI at scale.
• Develop backend services using TypeScript and Python, and contribute to frontend interfaces in JavaScript.
• Implement and extend AI-driven workflows by integrating directly with LLM APIs.
• Own the full development lifecycle from first commit to production deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate daily with the VP of Engineering, CTO, and CEO in an iterative, no-silo environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software engineering experience with real production systems.
• Strong command of TypeScript and Python; JavaScript for frontend work.
• Experience with platform engineering fundamentals: APIs, microservices, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD.
• AI-fluent with a deep understanding of how to build around LLMs and leverage AI tooling.
• BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent technical rigor.
• Must be based in or relocate to San Francisco for a full-time onsite role (5 days/week).

Nice to have

• Experience in conversational AI, NLP, or agentic systems.
• Domain knowledge in fintech, banking, or financial services.
• Prior startup experience, especially in companies with 10–50 employees.
