TL;DR

Location: Onsite in Wilton, CT, US. Must be work authorized in the US without employer sponsorship.

What you will do

  • Pitch polish optics to desired specifications using spindle polishing machines without direct supervision.
  • Clean, inspect, and test optical components using advanced metrology equipment, including Zygo Interferometers.
  • Verify the accuracy of finished products and support process and product development.
  • Perform blocking, unblocking, and work with pressing and cutting laps.
  • Collaborate with Production Engineering and Manufacturing Management to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain workplace organization and equipment according to 5S area standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills, including basic math and geometry.
  • Willingness to work a compressed work week (12-hour shifts, rotating 3-4 days a week).
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment wearing full PPE (coveralls, hoods, booties, etc.).
  • Ability to lift and move parts up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree in a vocational trade.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing facility or a vocational certification.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Previous optical spindle polishing knowledge.
  • Experience with continuous improvement efforts like Kaizen or quality circles.
