What you will do
- Own and evolve the technical direction and long-term architectural vision of the consumer platform.
- Make high-leverage architectural decisions across a modern TypeScript ecosystem (React, Node.js, Next.js).
- Stay deeply hands-on in the codebase, contributing to complex features and driving system design end-to-end.
- Define and operationalize AI-assisted engineering workflows using tools like Cursor, Codex, and Claude to increase team velocity.
- Partner with Product and Design leadership to translate ambiguous problems into clear technical roadmaps.
- Mentor engineers and raise the bar for engineering quality, performance, and reliability.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in modern full-stack web development.
- Must be based in the US.
- Strong mastery of TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Next.js.
- Experience with GraphQL, Apollo, AWS, and databases such as Postgres and DynamoDB.
- Proven track record of owning architecture for consumer-facing web products at scale.
- Practical fluency with integrating AI-assisted development into professional software workflows.
Nice to have
- Experience working on high-traffic consumer products at scale.
- Prior experience mentoring Staff or Senior Staff engineers.
- Familiarity with modern observability, CI/CD, and developer productivity tooling.
