Technical Manager (Broadcast & Media)

TL;DR

Technical Manager (Broadcast & Media): Managing and innovating technology platforms for design, promotions, and campaign teams with an accent on VDI, cloud infrastructure, and creative production workflows. Focus on building and virtualizing desktop infrastructure, optimizing media production, and integrating AWS services.

Location: Hybrid (2 days per week in London/Osterley). Must have the appropriate right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not offered.

What you will do

• Innovate and support platforms for design and post-production teams using tools like VizRT, Unreal Engine, and Houdini.
• Build, deploy, and virtualize desktop infrastructure (VDI), servers, and storage across Windows and Linux.
• Integrate VDI platforms with internal systems and public cloud providers like AWS.
• Automate systems to optimize media production workflows and ensure security compliance.
• Manage the problem and change management process, acting as an escalation point for support incidents.
• Develop and maintain support procedures and documentation for bug fixes.

Requirements

• High-level knowledge of AWS platform and associated services.
• Professional experience with Hypervisor and VDI platforms (e.g., vSphere, Azure, Horizon).
• Expertise in creative software tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Maxon, and Foundry Nuke.
• Proven experience in Broadcast or Post-Production technical roles, including MAM.
• Experience in infrastructure design, project management, and delivery.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).

Nice to have

• Experience in systems engineering and automation within the Media and Entertainment industry.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Deep understanding of computer hardware and various operating systems.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with non-technical stakeholders.
